Curriculum
Through nature-based activities, our curriculum in second grade is designed to meet our students’ level.
In English, our students will read texts orally with accuracy, appropriate rate and expression with purpose and understanding. They will recount stories and determine their central messages. Our teachers will follow a comprehensive and sequenced phonics program to help students analyze and decode regular and irregular words. Our students will dive deeply in writing where they concentrate on spelling, composition, grammar, punctuation and parts of speech.
In Math, we believe that children learn best using a multisensory approach; this approach allows them to “see” the math as their learning occurs through three stages: doing, then visualizing, then symbolic/abstract. Our students will be exposed to more complicated mathematical processes then before in the following areas: Numbers and operations, Algebra, Measurement and Data as well as Geometry.
In Science, our students will have better comprehension of nature through observation, prediction and a wide range of experiments. Our Science curriculum will cover land and nature, property of materials, landscape and living things and habitats.
In addition, our program covers social studies, Specialists lessons, Arabic language as well as Islamic.
Timing
Classes start at 7h30 and finish at 2 pm.
After School Club
